Creating The Road To A Growing Community
Taggart Construction laid 2.5 kilometres of urban road to support the expansion of Kingston’s Cataraqui Woods community. In addition to the roadworks, our team provided watermain construction and installed sanitary and storm sewers. The project involved complete streetscaping including the construction of sidewalks and medians, signalized intersections and energy-efficient streetlights. We finished by planting 783 beautiful trees and shrubs to enhance the community’s aesthetics and walkability.
As this portion of Cataraqui Woods Drive had limited natural drainage, we brought in significant amounts of rock fill to augment drainage, especially during storm conditions. A 42-metre linear retaining wall composed of precast blocks was also required.
The Catarqui Woods Drive Extension project included
〉 2.5 kilometres of road
〉 Complete site services
〉 Drainage improvements
〉 Beautification and enhanced walkability
〉 3,150 square metres of concrete sidewalk, medians and boulevards
