Exceeding Standards, Enabling Growth

Cities and towns need sufficient basic infrastructure to grow sustainably. Our work on the twin forcemain extension of James Street in Kingston, Ontario, was a key part of sewage treatment upgrades required by the city to accommodate future growth.

Carried out over two years, the project required boring a 185-metre-long rock tunnel with a diameter of 1.8 metres. We deployed 1,100 metres of 1,050-millimetre forcemain pipe and installed large, poured-in-place valve chambers. As with many of our projects, our infrastructure wastewater management works on James Street met or exceeded Ontario government standards.

The Kingston Forcemain Extension project included

〉  Installation of concrete pressure forcemain pipe

〉  Strict regulatory compliance

〉  Rock drilling and blasting
