Taggart Construction Limited was founded in Ottawa in 1948 by Harold Taggart. The Company currently employs approximately 200 employees and has an annual volume of work excess of 35 million dollars. In 1973 the Company established an office in Kingston which has enabled it to expand it's operations throughout Ontario's Eastern Region.
In 1948 the Company focused primarily on sewer and watermain construction. The Company today has expanded it's operations to include such work as:

- Sewage Treatment Plants
- Sewer and Watermain Construction
- Retaining Walls, Box Culverts and Other Structures
- Solid Waste Management Facilities
- Stormwater Management Systems

In 1975 Taggart Construction started a real estate management company. Taggart Realty Management has established a solid reputation for professionalism, integrity and reliability. They can deliver the most complete management services on today's market.
In 1983 Taggart Construction acquired a general building contractor Doran Contractors Limited which has been in continuous operation in the Ottawa area since 1896.
In 1987 Taggart Construction started a house building operation. Today Tamarack Development Corporation is the fourth largest home builder in the Ottawa-Carleton region.
